Meet the 2025 Recipients of the London Neighbourhood Scholarship
We are proud to partner with The William Sutton Prize and Clarion Housing Group, who generously funded three scholarships for London-based students enrolled in a RIBA Part 1 architecture course.
Our three new LNS scholars are now busy in their first year and have told us about their experience so far:
‘’The support the LNS has given me has made a real difference to my experience studying architecture. It has helped ease financial pressure, allowing me to fully engage in studio work, materials and opportunities that further my learning. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities it has enabled.’’ Aisha Suleiman, pursuing Architecture at UCL (The Bartlett)
"LNS has helped me invest more into my studies by being able to buy materials and participate in field trips on my course. I feel very grateful to have received this unique opportunity as it has meant that I don't face barriers when experimenting with materials, making my architectural process more thorough and varied.” Isata Kamara, pursuing Architecture at UCL (The Bartlett)
"The LNS Trust's support has been a source of encouragement and reassurance throughout my studies. It has also opened doors to many opportunities that may not have been accessible to me otherwise. Knowing that I was supported allowed me to stay focused and confident throughout my studies." Malak Hafez, pursuing Architecture at Ravensbourne University
The scholarship awards £5,000 per year for materials, study trips and general expenses over the three-year degree. LNS scholars also benefit from mentoring, work experience and industry networking opportunities.
We thank The William Sutton Prize and Clarion Housing Group for their commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the built environment by offering funding and mentoring to develop the next generation of talent. Their support will help more young Londoners succeed in their pursuit of careers in architecture.
Applications for students starting their studies in 2026 will open in August and scholarships will be awarded in October.
More information about eligibility and timelines will be available on the LNS website soon.
